Engine problem
I’m new here. New to the performance scene and to this forum. Don’t know if I’m posting right. I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado 4wd and I had a mechanic put in a stage 4 Texas speed cam and valve springs and rods and lifters and had a dod and vvt delete. I drove it about 3 months tryin to tune it and all of a sudden I have a knock. Mechanic said it could be spun bearings or broken rod. Did I put too big of a cam in it? What could have caused this? What are my options? Rebuild or get a short block motor to put in it. I’m already 6k in the hole on this build.

What converter did you go with? Is the knock rpm related, does it knock at idle or just under load?

Does it sound like it’s in the top end or bottom end? Could be spun cam bearing.

Your cam is probably fine so your not gonna be out any parts just labor. I’ve been there and it isn’t fun…

Easiest thing to do is drain oil and look for the glitter.
