Corvette brakes on 94 c1500
 
New to the forum. I have been told there are several manufacturers that make a bracket to mount 6 piston calipers off a corvette onto a gen 4 c1500, but i cant find it. Doing the front brakes first on a 2" drop spondle. Then converting rear drums to disc. Any suggestions?

6 piston = C6 Z06 brakes

I may be mistaken, it happens 1-2x a year: but there isnt a kit for the GMT400. The GMT800/900 have a bolt on bracket to run Corvette stuff, but the 400 requires grinding and welding on the bracket, esp if your spindle is for the sliding pin style and not the bolt on caliper style

Thanks. That explains why i couldn't find a kit. Does anyone make a drop spindle that converts to newer model spindle?

I am unaware of that existing as well, but you might be able to adapt the newer model spindle/upright to your truck

When you say newer model, do you mean the T1XX platform (2019-up) ? I ask because the GMT800, GMT900, and K2XX seem all similar enough in spindle/hub/brake design that they are somewhat interchangeable, so I don't see any of those three fitting a GMT400 without a lot of work. I thought the T1XX was similar to K2XX-older but I don't really know much about them other than I think they are the most godawful-looking GM trucks ever made.

There's a thread over on GMT400 forums about trying to adapt the GMT800-up spindle/brakes but I don't know how much progress has been made. They're pretty different..

I think when he says newer model I think he means newer than the OBS lol

Such as newer model meaning GMT-800 in comparison to the older model being GMT-400

T1XX front brakes fit on GMT-800 though.

From his first reply I'm pretty sure he knows GMT800 stuff doesn't fit the GMT400..

:sigh: No man you see how arthur said that the corvette stuff fits the GMT800/900 platform? Then you got fireguy asking if you can convert to the newer model spindle, newer model spindle in this scenario being GMT800. I don't think anyone was talking about T1XX until you brought it up lol

That is correct, I meant converting to 800/900 spindles (I too hadn't considered the T1xx spindles, as I am about 0% familiar with that chassis as of yet). Albeit in full disclosure I havent seen an 800 spindle next to a 400 and Ive yet to see the T1xx next to either as well. So I do not know what is involved in swapping, if it would/could ever be accomplished without fabricating control arms

Sorry for the confusion, I will try to be more concise/clear in future posts now that that T1xx is a thing. Ugly thing, but ppl are buying and modding them and we will see more of them on the forum in the coming times

T1XXs are starting to grow on me. At least the lower trim front ends are. The HC and LTZ trims the front end looks like ass. The 2500s look sick though in my opinion
