checking in

Hey guys. Im looking at a 99 1500 silverado w/z71 with 86,000 miles and was wondering if you guys could tell me anything to look for before I go scoop it up. I plan checking the usual stuff like brakes, suspension and I also have a scanner that i plan on taking with me to check for codes but i didnt know if theres anything specific i should look for. Thanks for the help.

Later,

Carl

The transmissions is the weak link in these trucks. So make sure that's in order. Also check for any sign of knock on cold starts..

The only problem I have had with my truck is the fuel gauge is possessed. Other then that my truck has been flawless.

Yea man tell me about it. Me and a couple of buds went down to spring break in florida a couple of years ago in a 2000 x cab 2wd and the tranny went out the first night we were down there, lol. We still had a great time. I have also saw how the gas gauge reads low when it is full and acts wierd. Very strange.
