5.3 swapped 83 k10 best cam
I recently locked up the 350 that was in my truck and bought a 5.3 with the harness and computers for 300$ tore it down to the block and sent the block and heads to the machine shop where my new pistons and rods just got put in they are wiseco 3.905 pistons so I did bore it quite a bit well now I'm needing to order a camshaft kit I do play in the mud alot and drive my truck daily I dont much about cams and was thinking I'd ask before I buy it will be bolted up to a rebuilt th350 and I would prefer to use my stock converter the truck is a 1983 k10 4inch suspension lift on 35s like I said I do beat this truck alot on and off road I would love to have the sound of a big cam but still have low end power as before with the 350 it was a dog off the line I'd be happy to answer any questions or help in anyway I can

I have a Comp XR265HR 212/218 low lift cam in my LS1/4L60e swapped Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Stock converter, stock 5.7L displacement with LS6 intake manifold, truck exhaust manifold and LS6 valve springs. I haven't driven the truck much but this was the cam I chose after a lot of research into a stock converter friendly, factory sounding cam with LS6-valve-spring-friendly lift.
Here's a video of it after it's second start up still untuned:
A lot of cam manufacturers have some version of a 212/218 truck cam. I know Comp and TSP both have low and high lift versions of this cam.

Stock stall limits the cam size, what he said above is about where you will want to be.
Because you also bored the engine out and the displacement is larger and so will the camshaft, you will need larger fuel injectors too. No way the stock 25lb/hr injectors will push out enough fuel. They are hardly big enough for a stock 6.0 with minimal mods. Don't forget a decent fuel pump, a walbro 255lph at 58psi of fuel pressure will do great. Then a custom tune to round it all out.
