Hello all. Nesbie here. Could uze some help. I have 08 silverado 2wd. I bought engine Tranny and rear end (12 bolt) out of sams hear Z71 4x4.
My Mechanic swapped tailshafts, installed everything and i have no 2nd or 4th gear. Computers telling it to shift but nothing. If I'm on the highway doing 65 if I punch it it will downshift to 2nd but red line. Help please

Is it tuned for the transmission change?

You can't just slap a 4L80e in your truck and hope the 4L60e calibration will run it.

I don't really know. I have a Mechanic doing it for me. Lets asume he did. Whats the next point to check? I have 1st and 3rd. No lights on, well actually service tire pressure monitoring system. But other than that no lights or codes it's like 2nd and 4th don't exist or even better it will try for 2nd but there is nothing there

did he install the conversion harness? Two of the pins on the 4l60e connector need to be changed to different locations.

No, thanks. I've been reading all about it as well. Unfortunately the motor blew... 2900 miles and oil pump went out. They're going to give me 6.0 from there next build in 7 weeks.thanks all. I'll let u know how it goes
