Default 03-06 sierra converting to a 99-02 Silverado front end

Hey I was wondering if anyone has heard of swapping a 99-02 Silverado front clip on an 06 sierra? I’ve seen videos of people shaving down the frame to swap to an 03-06 front end so would I need to weld add ons to the frame for the older bumper to fit correctly? Just unsure if this is even possible to do, but I really like the way the older Silverado front end looks. Thank you for any advice!

I've seen the cateye front swapped in to the 99-02, so I'm sure you can do your swap as well with some modifications.

Are you going to convert to the Silverado, not GMC, right?

Just get the parts and start unbolting and swapping stuff until you hit roadblocks, then cut/grind/weld as required. You can include the 00-06 SUVs for parts, although I think there were small changes, like maybe radiator support changes late in the production run?

I personally like your truck and the front. I think it was the best looking truck in the GMT800 1500-series.

That 03-06 is the second best front end and I would not change it.

However, you will need the hood, fenders, core support, grille, bumper, bumper cap, head lights and I think that is it. The frames are the same between the two.

Yes the swap has been done. I don't remember if the brackets on the frame are different or not.

I know you got to use the frame horns for the Silverado. A friend of mine put a GMC Sierra frame under a Silverado I can't remember if he had to shave the front body mount or had to shim it.
