First COPO Camaro in the 8s
#31

All the parts to make your own COPO are available. But piecemeal will far exceed the car from GM itself, but limited numbers will do that. As will, again, the price.

If you were one of the lucky 67 people to buy a COPO (69 total, #1 was prototype and #2 went to a museum), you had the option to purchase all three engine combos with one of your choice installed while the other two were crated I believe.

That's what I have read as well

yes all numbers tie back to that car for all 3 motors. gotta remember starting price was 90k so id assume thats for the 427 car. from what i seen LOTS of people wanted to buy them but all were sold the first week. if you didnt have the cash then it went on to the next person in line

I watched a promo vid and they said that they will be selling these motors as a crate option! That will be super bad ***! I will never have the money, but, to buy a factory built engine that will make more power then my 408 that might come with some sort or limited warranty! That would be awesome!

This is correct. 2 blown 5.3L (large bore/short stroke), and the NA 427 that comes with the Holley Hi-ram intake.
