I was lookin at cameras & cam corders @ BB just about a week ago. Saw a lot of 14+ & 16+ pixel cams, but nothing 17 or above. Of course, I wasn't lookin at phones.

OP, I wonder what kinda cam that is & how much?

Now, I wanna go to Yosemite after seeing that.

i think you're seeing megapixel ratings. this picture's 17 gigapixels - 1024x the resolution (or something close to that)

So, it wasn't my imagination. I'd always heard mega- up til now. Can't even imagine how $$$ that this 17 giga- costs.

Even if IDK how to figure how one # gets converted into the other.

My phone is 8x megapixels.

EASILY more than quite a few of our trucks combined, not only in the imaging equipment, but the computer used to load everything on at that speed as well. my lens i have for my nikon camera is worth almost twice as much as what my truck is worth, so much so that i have better insurance on it than my truck.

I don't think they realize the true difference in giga and mega. GIGA is far greater than mega.

I understand the difference but I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around this. Freaking nuts! I'm also shocked at the prices Jared91 is throwing out there. You talking new prices or used prices?
