4.3 swap question
I have a 94 S10 blazer, 4.3 W code, CMFI engine. The one with the silver intake and the black/orange (vortec logo) trim piece on top of the intake. The spider is leaking fuel internally, and the top end could use a rebuild after 23 years.
I also have a low mileage 2003 GMC Safari with a 4.3, not sure of the code but it has the black intake manifold that resembles an MPFI intake manifold. It runs fine but has a bottom end knock, and rear collision damage. Never the less, it is a complete running and driving donor.
Both engines are balance shaft engines, and both are automatic trannies.
Money is tight so I am thinking of swapping the whole top end, (heads/intake/fuel injection) of the 2003 onto the 1994 block that is in the S10???
I can do this for just time invested, with very little cash outlay!
Anyone ever done such a swap, is it even doable??
