According to a Thread the owner had created here, It was a Mercedes transmission.

We used Renntech since it is a Mercedes transmission. Nobody knows what they will handle so we will find out. Crossing our fingers it will stay put

he should have crossed them a little tighter!!!

i dont know why you would take all that risk with a trans you dont know about after you spent all that money on a solid setup. wonder what he is going with now?

Lets set aside the fact that this tranny in the JGC expoloded.....my question is why if you had your choice would you use a 4l60E......what an idiot. I know if I had the choice there is no chance I would use a 60e... mine blew up on a stock truck @ 28k LOL. Expecting a 60e to hold any power LOLOLOLOL

From what I can tell that is a bad rumor. I seem to recall it being a Mercedes designed trans. Possibly the stock style trans in those grand cherokees?

Rumors Rumors Rumors.. The truck had a Renntech Nag1 (mercedes trans thats in all SRT8's) transmission in it at the beginning of the build and that didn't last long so a few different prototype Nag1's were tested with not good results. The trans that was then ordered was a BUILT 4L85 with hummer transfercase. That is th setup that granaded . There was never a 400, 200, 4L60 or anything else. It had a few Nag1's then the 4L85E. Any other questions?
