Want my truck faster

You figure $1500 for heads, $400 for a cam, $300 for injectors and $400 for a tune. Already your at $2600 and that's doing the wrenching yourself, then figure another $1000 for full exhaust. All that $$$$ for HP in the neighborhood of 400 to the wheels.
So you want to go faster? Throw in $1800 for a nitrous set up or $3000+ for an FI system, $1500 for a tranny that will handle the power and $400 for a rear end. What about suspension or a stall for the tranny?
Right now your at almost 8 Grand, go with cheap parts and your at 6500 let's say, or go with the best and you in the upper range of 10k.
You say fast, how fast, what is fast? Are you racing other trucks, 5.0 Mustangs, SS Camaro's, Corvette's, Hellcat's, GTR's, what?
Best to define your goals and work from a budget and realize that no matter how fast your truck is, there is one faster and HUNDREDS of cars faster. If you want to make a 4500lb rock move then be prepared to spend some cash.
Fast is expensive, it's a f_cking blast but it cost money! State your budget and go from there and have fun with what you build no matter who you race. I race Corvette's all the time in my truck, I don't win but it's still fun racing!!

I am probably 25K+ into my "700whp" Tahoe.
Not because its practical, but because I like wasting money, and I hope its gonna be awesome to blast some fuggin diesel boyz and ecoboost tards in my 15yr old box.
Plus I want it to be better at towing. I live 6000' above sea level, and the lil 5.3 with my crawler on the back is.... um.... terrible, to say the least.
My plan morphed from a 6.0/LSA swap to a ported/pullied LSA and a fully built 408, with 14 bolt, 4L80, 4.10, etc.
Its only money

They never do, they don't want to do any reading or work, they just wanna hear "aye yo you can put nawws on it down at shorties **** shack for 2 hunna bones yo and be bustin on dem vettz"
Typical 1st poster that creates a login in and doesn't like it when actual reading, research, or work is involved.
It's kinda easy to spot the type, the dude started the thread with "wats up guy"

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but since I'm back into my Suburban as a DD (my Forester XT was totaled over the weekend) I'm thinking I want to make it faster, handle better, etc etc. I got spoiled driving the Foz - 380WHP and about 3100#. I see a lot of guys with a lot of fast stuff but how many of you DD your trucks? My commute is 36mi each way and I'm trying to decide if it's realistically worth it to really dig into my truck or spend the time/money somewhere else and keep this one stock/get rid of it. My goals are realistic, I don't expect my Burb to handle like a (insert sports car here) or get hybrid car mileage, just kind of looking into the feasibility of what I want to do.

Make a burban faster.. man you picked a pig to play with. I'd 6.0 swap it, raise compression, small cam, headers and better flowing muffler, lowering kit (spindles on the front) and whatever on the rear and get sway bars. Get with tech@ws6 store about a ported dorman intake for it. A small stall converter would be fun too. Then a good tune. Put some decent wheels and tires on it (lightweight with good tires, not big chrome blinged out ****)
Or just throw a turbo on it.
Then build the trans to take all the above
Put front rotors and calipers on it from a 07-13 truck (13" rotors vs 12")
Lighten it up anywhere you can, light spare, pull extra seats..
Then get ready for 12 mpg or less avg cause you been driving fun instead of for MPG.
