Vinci cams
#1
I was talking to roger at vinci cams, and for my 82 c10, with a 5.3l LM7 and 4l60e, with 4.10 gears, CAI, 3200 stall, shift kit, vette servo, and 160* t stat he specced a 222/228 .551/.551 on a 115 LSA, or their Triple X cam. this goes against everything i have learned about cams, i asked him about their stangbanger cam or, 220/224 .551/.551 on a 114, but having it ground on a 112 LSA. he said that that cams lobes were not as agressive as the 222/228. He said that the wider LSA would work better with the fuel injection and make better vaccuum at idle, but if i was going to run a carb that the 220/224 cam would be better. i don't really understand as i was originally going to get a tr220,tr224, or tsp220 so for him to recomend the 222/228 was not expected. his site also shows that the the stangbanger or 220/224 .551/.551 cam had a powerband from 1500-6500, and that the triple x 222/228 .551/.551 cam has powerband from 1700-7000, now wouldnt the 220/224 cam be more in the powerband for a 3200 stall, i'm not worried about a smooth idle, i want it to chop
. i'm conflicted
on a side note would these springs work in my truck with the stock retainers?

Roger will grind you any cam you want. I would go for the Stangbanger myself. At 114LSA you will have some nice chop but still have a decent idle.
They all seem a little big for a 5.3 IMO but might work well with that converter.
Send LPE an email regarding those springs with the factory retainers. They look like they'll work, though.
