Which Valve Springs Now?
I am getting ready to swap cams again when I upgrade to the 122hh in the next few weeks. After seeing these new design 918's break I am going to switch springs. I want to stay with the beehive springs. Any luck with Lunati 75818 or Crower 68435?

I'd go with PAC-1218's.
|
I would go with Isky 165A' s or PAC. They are the same spring. I have been running my Isky's .050'' off coil bind on both engines with no problems. Truck has been driven cross country several times that way.

Who says there are anything wrong with the new 918's? I think dozerdan's problem was due to coil bind. We'll find out if he checks the height with a valve spring micrometer. Maybe this will be a good lesson for most on this board to not just slap in a set of springs.

I had the same problem with the 918's.I chased a tapping noise for a while and then I started checking the springs.#7 intake was .018 smaller than the rest of them.I've heard of the old ones breaking but not the new ones.

im runnin the new 918's and they are very quiet...im pretty impressed with them so far! I think people will be quick to jump on them because of the problems with the old ones...

why no dual springs?

:stupid:

maybe because they increase valvetrain mass and wear. The PAC 1518 is a really good beehive

i'd use the pac 1518
