surface rust in piston sleeve
 
is this normal. my heads have been off for a few days while waiting on gaskets and bolts. went out to the garage today and theres rust in my piston sleeves. please tell me a little surface rust is normal. i vaccumed all of the crap out and everything.

your supposed to coat the cylinder walls so they don't do that, wd40 works well.

you should be just fine..just clean it out and coat with wd40 or oil of some sort

i coated it with pb blaster which says its displaces water. is this guna hurt anything?

water dispersing or somethin like that..40 was the 40th try..made for the military to dry water out of electrical connections or somethin like that..not even made for lubrication..i never use it

Personally I find wd 40 will displace, and then attract water. I like CRC products better but I always have a can of wd40 about the house.

sigh...guess im off to walmart to buy wd40...i never really use the crap so i dont have it in the garage. guess ill be cleaning piston sleeves tonight too:bomb:

haha yeah i got some royal purple layin around haha. kinda an expensive rust preventor but im too lazy to drive to wally world.
