dont wory. i took my stock cammed 5.3 to 6500 daily and never had a problem. you could probably pull 7k on stock cam and springs without float but theres really not a point to it. you lose power anywhere from 5800 to 6200.

When my 5.3 was stock I had the shift points at 6k. no reason to go over without a cam and springs. IMO
after 3 years, I am STILL the only one to make 13's in an extended cab silverado on the stock cam and springs without any power adders. shifting 6500rpm. it all depends on the setup.

Yes. I'm comparing to my own experience with MP112.

I was .06 seconds away on the stock stall I might add. Shifting at 5900-6000.

you have heads...not a fair comparison but i guess it is stock cam haha. you should have gained about as much as a cam swap with better flowing heads and more compression.

cam stall and slicks and youll be DEEP into the 13's if not 12's.

Your are a lucky and crazy bastard thats why your stuff never breaks LOL!!

I shift mine at 6100 right now... when i put the cam/springs/rods in ill be shifting at 6600 or 6700 depending on how it pulls.

Like TXsilverado said it all depends on the set-up.

honestly, the heads didn't gain me any SOTP. But I did just find out recently that I had a bad MAF and also likely a leaking intake manifold! Look at it this way....on the stock tune wheatley sent me I can get a max of 17-19 degrees timing at wot with 6-7 degrees of KR (it commands 22-24) ....so just imagine what it was doing with wheatley's hot tune commanding 28 or 29 degrees. So basically I never saw the full potential of the setup. That probably explains the lowish numbers I saw on the dyno too.

For real, no one else has? I went 14.16 on a mail order tune, full exhaust, factory 20s with half worn Goodyears (traction problems), 30% TM still enabled (zero tranny Mods), full weight plus bedrug, probably 100 extra pounds in the cab, 3/4 tank of gas, not to mention I weigh 250. DA was 1257. Shifting at 5800. I'm amazed no one else has dropped some weight and busted 13s.
