Default s10 5.3 swap & I need advice please

I am needing some assistance on my project truck. I am on a very tight budget and I could use some advice. I have the factory 4.3 in it but its fixing to kick the bucket with 314,600ish miles. I have a ton of questions like...Will the column shift lever match the new tranny. or will I need to convert to a floor shifter? Are there any serious adjustments I will need to make? I have read somewhere that the motor will need to be moved 2" to the front..?? I have found a 5.3 with wiring, computer, tranny, and the a/c for $1,000 with 145k miles. I am fairly new to motor swaps so I need help. Has anyone done this project before, or anything very similar?

Will the column shift lever match the new tranny. YES

will I need to convert to a floor shifter? NO

Are there any serious adjustments I will need to make? NOTHING EXTREME

I have read somewhere that the motor will need to be moved 2" to the front..?? NO

I have found a 5.3 with wiring, computer, tranny, and the a/c for $1,000 with 145k miles. A LITTLE HIGH IMO

I am fairly new to motor swaps so I need help.

Has anyone done this project before, or anything very similar? tons have done this swap and the aftermarket has accepted it as a normal swap. everything for this swap can be purchased off the shelf these days.

when you decide to start building, start a build thread and ask as many questions as you want. we can get you going in the right direction. also search for my build thread. txsilverado 2.0 is the title of it. i'm in the middle of a swap and it shoud have some good info in there. I went carb, but you do not need to. there are companies out there that make plug and play wiring harnesses for s10 swaps using the OEM EFI setup.

I dont think any of our sponsors carry LS s10 swap parts. there are several different mounts. some on ebay, current performance, Jagsthatrun, BRP hotrods...i used BRP mounts with a H3 hummer oil pan and didnt have to modify a single thing to set the motor in. if you want to run the AC compressor in the factory location (for truck accessories) you will need to notch and box the frame. some people have clearance issues with the power steering pulley and steering box. there are aftermarket pullies if you run into that problem. honestly, if you dont plan to run the AC in the OEM location it is a 100% bolt together deal. your core support will need to be modified to accept a larger radiator...i have pictures of every cut in my build thread to make it easier.

Yea I read where you used the h3 pan for more clearance. Should I invest in afteraftermarket hood? Also read where (I think) you said You ran into clearance issues with the air intake
Will I be able to use the factory fan off the 5.3 or will I need to invest in Electric fans?
Will factory headers fit without clearance issues?
Will the trans bolt up with the old mount locations?
