PRC dual.... install ....

I installed a set of PRC duals on my 5.3 with tit retainers.. ... removed the stock springs... removed the seals... install the spring cups.. then the seals.. Then the bolth springs... tit retainers.. factort locks... I have driven it 110 miles and today there was a ton of noise... pulled off the valve covers and broken rockers everywhere !... the cam is small !!!! 590 590 224 228.... what the hell happen??? coil bind... but i dont know why there is a kit for these motors and have something like this happen....

dont know what happened but that cam is not really small for a 5.3L

I did torque the rockers to 22 ft/lbs... I was going to just stick a set of 918s... and went again and got the PRC so they might last a while with high boost ...

for some reason rockers destoying themselves been happening like crazy lately. ive had a motor do that to me about 2 months ago. youre going to have to completely tear down to get all the needle bearings out. they are in your oil pan, cylinders, pickup tube. you name it, they are there

yeah well.... thanks to Derek@ EDO .. he sent me a link to someone else with the same problem ... its on the intake valves on BOLT sides.... the problem are the seals .... there is a link on tech.. I was under the impression you use the stock seals and locks replace the springs and retainers..... WRONG !!!!!!

Quik 10-14-2007 09:13 PM

post link, cause lots of ppl use stock seals

:werd:

thats why you sometimes see screened oil passages on the heads on race applications.
Id take off you pan, heads etc. Unless your not worried about the 5.3.

Its my Dummy motor but i dont need it to blow up ! ... well not because problem caused by a Valve seal !... I need to at least see 18psi or something before it throws parts out. I am working on HPtuners see if i can get a handle on getting a tune worked out ...

thats interesting to say the least. no body truely knows why unless you point in direction of PTV issue. i highly doubt its the seals
