OEM type main bearings with a 4" stroke crank?
 

will this work ?

the setup is a 408ci lq4 with the callies speed pack the bearings that came with the kit are kings and they were scratched and I think it will damage the crank
so I bought another set of kings and cost me 208$ with shipping to this part of the world
the mains on this set were also damaged , damn't
the hp goals are modest 500 hp , nothing much , so I bought sealed power OEM replacment , fit great and the crank spins good ,
just want to check if they will work or not before putting the heads and pan on there

If it is a stock size at the mains, then OEM bearings will work. (Usually you would know if the mains have been turned)

Your journal is the same size unless the crank or block was damaged and needed work done resulting in the need for different.


Why doesn't king replace the bearings?

ill contact them about the bearing set I got

emailed callies they said the OEM style wont fit due to the crank radius desgin is different than the OEM radius

It is quite common for aftermarket cranks to have an increased rolled fillet, as it is commonly thought of as increasing the crankshafts fatigue resistance. While basically all other dimensions will typically be the same as an otherwise stock crankshaft, the increased rolled fillet will require a bearing that is slightly more narrow than stock. Of course there are a multitude of crankshafts available with everything from increased fillets to undersized rod journals and so that is really outside the topic of discussion here. Most major bearing manufactures offer bearings with different dimensions for their various lines, but it also is quite common for them to not offer every size available in a particular material composition make-up. You could end up having to look at more than one company to get a particular type bearing in the size your looking for.
