ls3 pistons in lq9 block?
Hello, i have a little question. I would like to swap some ls3 pistons into my 6.0 but first i need to know if i can use my same rods. The bottom end i have right now is out of a 03 SSS. Id like to reuse my stock crank and if possible also the rods. And also if i would put a victor junior with an elbow(not a carb) on the setup, would it make more power then the stock l92 intake i have on it right now.

I got some ls3 pistons and rods brand new for sale pm me if interested.

Also id keep the l92 manifold for more torque down low unless you wanna change to a ls3 style intake manifold for all around hp

I don't think it's a common occurrence to bore the LQ9 to 4.065". You may have a hard time with that

I would not recommend boring it that large.

I'd have your block sonic checked and go from there. I've heard of guys doing it n/a.. I personally have done .040" and had plenty of meat left. But never tried .060+

I was originally thinking going 370 but i can get ls3 piston cheaper than 4.030 piston so that's why i was thinking 6.2. Maybe this is a dumb question but is it possible to sonic check the block without taking it out? Never done anything like this. And besides i dont see this thing getting boost or nitrous soon, and if it does, most likely will be another motor by then. And the main reason why i wanted to go bigger bore is because of valve shrouding with the ls3 heads i have.

Okay, i just bought a 40 dollar 6.0 block and ill see what happens. Block looks to be in a good condition and ill try to have it sonic checked. As far as ive looked, no machine shop in my area has a sonic tester but ill look more to see what i find.
