I wouldnt even waste my time with an LS1. The 6.0 is superior in all regards sans the fact that it weighs 80 lbs more.

depends on a couple things. 1;how deep are your pockets, do you just have money to burn? 2; how many miles on your 5.3 ?

I would go with either a low mileage 6.0 or crate motor myself ( 6.0 liter or bigger). I only had 70k miles so I did a full head cam and all the supporting mods and made good power. Check my sig for detail, it made 352 rwhp - 331 rwtq. The bigger motors will give you more low end. Im debating on going with a crate motor next.

you could get away with it for a while just don't go rediculous with the timing or rev limiter till you get some inj's.

Thanks for the reply's guys- no for a really stupid question. In the back of my mind I'm simmering the idea of punching out my current 5.3 the LS1 bore size. Would I still need injectors then, wtaying with a small cam, around early LS6 variety.......................
