ls1 in silverado

I am new to the site and was wondering if any one else has stuck a ls1 or modified ls1 in a silverado. I put an ls1 in with ls6 heads and 1.8 harland sharp rockers. cam lift is .529 I & E. It seems to run ok but the middle to top end of 3rd gear seems lacking. I got a diablosport programmer for tweaking shifts, but otherwise stock. any tuning advice would be much appriciated.

Go back to the 1.7 rockers.

Why go back to 1.7 rockers? Wouldnt the extra lift, .529 is small, be helping him up top? Assuming he could tune it corectly, not iwht a handhield tho.

i'd say tune it with hpt or the like. also make your tc unlock at wot. factory they lock up about 80mph and it will feel dead. unless of course you make a ton of power lol

Could.

But that $600 spent on rockers would have been better spent on a cam install and would have ALOT more power in then end.

Also the 1.8s limit your cam choices.

To answer your original question, yes alot of people have put LS1's in their trucks. And i agree that you should go back to stock rockers and use the money for a more suitable cam and a REAL tune.
