you sure about 10.8:1 because my 2008 has 243s on a 5.3 and CR is 10.5:1 6.0 having a bigger cylinder with a bore and stroke i was thinking 10.0 maybe 10.2:1 just my way of looking and the numbers.

6 hours to mill some heads? holy fudge.them peope are slow as hell if it takes them that long shouldnt take no longer than 1 hour ,and 400$ an hour is fn retarded.

sell the 317's to help pay for some stock 243 heads( they usually go for 500-550) and a 224/228 cam(400) springs(250) pushrods(120) and you should be in the 380 range easily.

so i say you will be in the motor about 1500 after gaskets & fluids & beer!! but its well worth it

I dont know about the NNBS trucks but it used to be
5.3 Flat Tops
6.0 LQ4 Dished
6.0 LQ9 Flat Tops

As far as the heads go, any junk yards around? Somebody has wrecked a NNBS truck by now

Lots of confusion going on here!! Here are the facts, someone prove me wrong...

99-06 LM7 5.3: Dished pistons, 9.5 CR on 706/??? 61cc heads

07-current 5.3 (and05-06 L33): Flat-top pistons, 10.0 CR on 243/799 64cc heads

01-?? 6.0 LQ4: Dished pistons, 9.5 CR on 317 71-72cc heads

??-?? 6.0 LQ9: Flat-top pistons, 10.0 CR on 317 71-72cc heads

??-?? 6.0 LS2: Flat-top pistons, 10.8 CR on 243 64cc heads

An LQ4 with 243/799 heads will get you approx 10.4 CR

Also, my local machine shop mills heads for $80 a pair LOL

Hell, he should ship his heads down to you. Still WAY cheaper than what he's being quoted.
