what a choppy sounding and loud cam for my 2005 5.3 motor that will go on my 08 Silverado ? Should I go with the Tourqer V2,232/234,.600"/.600"? If not what cam and what will I need to change. Do I change the heads ? Pistons , rods? Ect.

Are you only after a choppy idle? What other mods do you have? What trans? Converter? What kind of shift RPM are you OK with?


Odds are most super choppy cams you'll hate driving with because they are also tailored to a larger motor. It'll make the 5.3 incredibly doggy. You could spec a cam that will have chop but also not kill low end grunt as bad as most cams would.

Comp cams has a lineup of cams called "Thumpr" they come in 3x flavors. Just buy one of those if all you want is noise


Don't forget to cut all of your exhaust off and run open headers too
Also, don't get it tuned for the cam and exhaust mods you will do as the factory tuning will maximize the lope at idle and give it the sound you are looking for
