Question long rod 6L.........anyone done one here?

I have a stock 3.622" crank, standard 6.0L block, 6.300" Eagle H-beam Rods, Mahle 4.00" (402" stroker shelf pistons) forged pistons...

This would be a standard 6.0" but have a longer rod and would probably work better for the high rpm boost motor project...

Any impressions of the long rod setup?

Wouldn't that only boost the CR by moving the piston closer to the top of the cylinder?

Wouldn't this be bad for a boosted application like this guy wants?

Not if you use a stroker piston with a higher wrist pin placement. They numbers they show in the other thread indicate that this mod will actually drop CR (they did the math and show that the piston deck height will be 0.010 while stock piston deck height on these blocks is -0.008).

Looks like a good idea on paper anyway. I'm not sure I'd want to be the first guinea pig

Does the pin being higher affect the top ringland thickness? It may end up being thinner that you would like.
