Default heads cam swap this weekend

im doing a heads cam swap this weekend. 208 cam heads are milled .030 with bigger valves from wcch. is there anything i need to know to do the instal? any tips or tricks i should know about?

i think there are a few stickies on both subjects, even a sticky on how to install heads without removing the intake manifold.

I did mine in about 5.5-6hours but thats booking it the whole time at a shop with air tools. I think thats pretty quick though if its your first on ehtan i doubt it'll be quite that quick.

If you've got Lt's get ready for them to **** you off... i could barely get mine out of the way enough to get the head bolts on the side of the heads out and trying to torque them was a lot of fun also. That was the only hard/aggrivating part for me.

It takes me about 8 hours to do a h/c swap, but I spend about an hour and a half alone on cleaning the deck of the block and everything, Im very meticulous about that so the motor doesnt burn oil have a coolant leak problem. Just take your time.

when i was a tech, guys used to give me **** for spending so much time cleaning up machined surfaces. all it takes is a little piece of **** to clog an oil galley.

i always tape off the intake ports on the heads so i dont accidentally drop somehting down there.
