First of all, your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.
I clearly understand I could make more power with my turbo, I even have a trick turbo's hot pipes that I hadnt put on. First of all, I'm not in the States anymore. It is over a 100degress almost all of the time and I would really prefer NA power. Not to bash anyone using a turbos, they're just so great at making budget power but I am also not that knowledgeable neither do we have any experienced shops in the area that know what they're doing so reliability is as much of an issue than power.
Thanks for all the input

Nope - not rough at all. Keep in mind that mine is in a C5, so I don't need much torque to get it running (not that I think that will be a problem with a 427). That cam isn't really 'big' with that many cubes so the driveablity is good (plus I spent a good bit of time on the cam tune).

Hey Guys, if he doesn't want to deal with a turbo, it's his choice. He's run one before -- he knows the benefits and tradeoffs.

Let's help him out with his NA build.

Right now you have to be atleast 475-490 at the wheels now. You have, what I would call a reliable set up, as is. What is missing in your current set up right now that is making you want to spend $8-10K for a new motor? I know you said support was an issue but I think that if they can't support a turbo there they probably won't be able to support a 700 HP NA engine either.

posted as I was typing, good point. I just wanted to know specifics of why no turbo. I'm considering one right now and wanted to understand his experiences. No offense intended.

I'm actually going to buy a complete built motor so I won't worry about gathering the parts and the build. I would only have to worry about installation of the motor which should be easy and finding a tuner which I already had found. I miss my days in Texas when I could get everything fixed right in a short amount of time by real knowledgeable professionals but I guess that's how life is.
Let me know your suggestions and comments on the build. My builder in the States suggested an LS7427 with 247cc heads for 620-640hp or a LSX454 with 247cc heads and a mild 230's cam for 660-680hp. He said I could get more top end power with LS7 heads but the 247's would help more in the low end curve.
My maximum budget for a long block would be $11K. I am worried about the 4.125 stroke of the 454. I don't beat on the truck that much but it will be driven almost daily in the high heat and humidity.

Qatar, in the Middle East, next to Saudi Arabia. There's a professional tuner 4 hours away from me, in Eastern Saudi.

What do you guys think of a LS7427+ported LS7 heads+medium cam+full exhaust+102/102 throttle and intake?
I am assuming 23% drivetrain loss through a T56 manual transmission due to a past dyno I have done. It should get to 663fwhp equating to 510rwhp.
Thanks again for all of you guys' comments and suggestions. It is all appreciated.
