Which 6.0 Rods/Pistons For Boost Build

Yea, that's a lq4 not lq9... I'm not a tuner or ever had boost so i don't know how much of a difference 9.5:1 to 10:1 will make. If the machine work isn't an arm and leg i'm just going to forge it and be done. I can afford the forged rods/pistons, bearing, bearings, ect(All the parts). I just don't know what to expect as far as machine work, assembly, and balance. $500, $750, $1000? I know i can't get a quote over the interwebs without the block being examined, I'm just trying to explain that the unknown amount of machine shop cost is why i'm possibly looking to use the ls2 rods/pistons or even ls2 rods/forged pistons. I'm going to forge it and be done depending on the labor cost. I'm off working for another week and 1/2 before i can drop my block off to the machine shop.

Short of the long is you want a 9sec truck on the cheap - it can be done but most that do it have something waiting for when it pops.
If it were me I'd just slap it together as cheap as possible and keep the boost low and start saving for a full build to replace when it pops.

No, I want a mid 10 sec truck for cheap lol. I clearly said that if I used the ls2 parts that 9 sec would not be my goal anymore. If the machine shop is $1000 then its 100% getting forged. That would put me at around $2700ish with forged/pistons & bearings. Everyone says get a J/Y engine and boost it to 10s. Hell a lot of 4.8s are doing it. I ask about using an iron ls2 to go 10s and all of a sudden I'm being cheap lol. I get what your saying, I do but I'm not trying to take junk and run 9s. If it's going to cost more that I want to spend right now to forge it I was simply asking if the ls2 rods/pistons and s475 would get me mid 10s until I build the engine and upgrade to s480. If not then I would entertain using the ls2 rods/forged pistons until I can get forged rods and upgrade to s480.
