5.3 towing Cam owners come on in
I have been researching getting the 212,218 lore lift Cam from comp for some while now and have now decided I'm ready.i have heard only good about it but have not seen much about how it acts under 2000rpm and how it acts with a car and trailer or the like behind it.just wondering if anyone here hasexperience with this.can't afford for it to become spongy or drive underpowered with a load behind it. Thanks in advance for any input.
Oh and by the way my truck is a05ccsb 5.3 with headers full exhaust child air ahp tune from me and leveling kit with 34 in all terrains

Your cam choice will be fine. It's the tire size that wil hurt. Search the forum there is a dyno sheet that shows a cam only 5.3 over the stock 5.3L. No loss in bottom end and more mid and top end power.
Also get rid of the hand held tunner and get a proffesional tune when you swap the cam.

Thanks for the input.been thinking of gear swap as well just haven't decided on what size.
And also guess I should have been more specific about tune.its not a handheld I used my hp tuners as I professionally tune here local.also considering a converter but that's down the line.wanna try Cam and gears first

You can get a little larger cam and be fine if you have an adjustable timing chain. Any reason not to get a converter first? I have the tt3000, LIngenfelter GT1 installed +4 and have towed 1 1/2 tons of patio stone over the axle, a back hoe, many of boats, trucks. I would be more worried about the braking lol! Also, the trans is all stock...aside from the verter

A good cam will definitely help your towing especially if you need to get the load moving up a hill. Granted, the transmission will go kaput faster if it's a 60E.
