5.3 forged?
 

Anybody heard of someone forging the internals of a 5.3? Just thinking what it would take...

Don't know where you would get forged bottom end for 5.3

Theres a member here, Lil Brother, who has a forged 5.3. Hopefully he will chime in as to what parts motor has.

Wiseco has forget pistons for the 5.3, a set of those and some forged rods and you're good to go. Stock crank can take some abuse.

While I’m sure you meant to say open up the 3.780” bore of the 5.3L to the LS1 5.7L’s size of 3.898”, for those that may still not be aware, the 5.3L and 5.7L shares the same stroke of 3.622” and as such has decent availability of forged components. That being said, outside of obtaining a good set of forged rods and pistons, for the most part a stock cast crank can handle all the abuse that most average people will put it through in an LS type engine. Unless one was planning to push some pretty extreme power, for the typical street engine build I would save my money for other components if I were staying with the stock crank stroke.

And I say... This isn't a Ford, so there's no need. ;)

how much can the stock rotating take, (- pistons) in a FI setup?
can a get 700-800 to the wheels with it?

For the money of a forged rotating assembly I'd at least use a 6.0 block to make it worth your money.

wiseco flat top forged pistons and rods have stock polished crank which we did some research and should be able to take over 1000hp that been said i have never straped down my truck to a dyno.....Now reason why i did mine was cause i wanted to break a 9 on a 5.3 which i think can be done on a stock 5.3 if not very well close to it but dont think it will last long maybe a couple of passes......
