317 on a 06 5.3
 
Curious what has to be done as far as running a 317 on a 5.3. i have read it somewhere but i cant remember what was done. milling them down or something?? Thanks for any help.

slap em on and go. what are you wanting to accomplish with them? Are you FI or NA?

I would say those are not the best heads for a 5.3. The valves are too big for a 5.3 bore, and your compression will be way down. Need more info on your setup for us to help you out though.

get 243's mlled if you want NA or leave 'em at 64cc for FI on the 5.3 WAIT, what engine is the '06, the L33 or LM7?

you need to give more info as of what you are wanting to do na/fi why do you want this
if you do this n/a i would angle mill the heads so you can run a good size cam if you flat cut them you are limited on the cam angle milling puts the valve farther away flat milling puts the valve closer.other than that you can just bolt them on just need to know what you are wanting to do.
