What's your budget?

Do you have a power goal?

Lifter tick is normal, typical LS thing. Even with a new cam and lifters, it'll still tick and clack.

One thing for sure, it needs gears. Swap the 3.42's for some 4.10's when running 33's.

Doing the whole AFM/DoD swap is not exactly cheap and picking the camshaft is something that is important here as well.

The basic's are new camshaft, new lifter, lifter trays, new valley plate, new front cover because 2010 also has VVT (that is if you remove VVT and run a non VVT camshaft which is easier in my opinion), new push rods, new head gaskets, head bolts, intake gaskets to be safe as well. I'm sure other little odds and ends too.

Places like texas speed sell kits with the parts you need for the swap, look into that. If you plan to stay with stock torque converter the cam will need to be smaller. Something in the 212/218 range is good for a daily driver while given a decent power bump.

If you want headers at the same time you can, or just stick with stock manifolds which is fine depending on goals and budget. 400hp at the crank can be had easier than 400 wheel horsepower which will need something like forced induction on a 5.3 through an auto with big heavy tires. So low to mid 300's can be done.

Anything you do will require a custom tune from someone or a shop, there is no way around this. They can correct the gear ratio/speedo and transmission shifting for the gear change at that time as well.

^^ solid response.

Gears would be my first choice because of the 33s. Then save a couple grand for the motor and converter.

Re-read my post.

Already said you need new push rods, aftermarket upgraded valve springs will be wanted and the size cam I suggest would work great or you can go slightly smaller. I also talked about the torque converter briefly, saying if you choose something along the lines of what I said, it's not required.

NNBS trucks have decent sized injectors, if the truck is factory flex fuel they are even larger yet. You will never need new ones with just a cam swap.

Brian Tooley Racing or Texas Speed would sell you a good camshaft. Measuring push rod length or calling and talking with one of them to get an opinion on what you need isn't a bad idea.

Power gains is a toss up. It depending on where you live, what camshaft you pick, what other mods you do at the same time, how good the tuner is. A good random guess is 40-60hp at the tire, a decent pick up in power for sure.
