Whipple pulley size for a 5.3
I am wondering what pulley you guys with a 5.3 were sent in your whipple kit. From what I can find i have about the largest one. Mine is 4.5. My whipple supplied tune is massively rich over 40% throttle. I wondering it’s due to having such a massive pulley. Just wanted to see what size some of you guys were supplied. Thanks.

Well just keep in mind there is more to be had. Looking at dyno graph mine picked up ~ 60 tq and ~ 40 hp around 4200 it appears after tune. That was where there was the most improvement. Also my scanner says 7.5 lbs.

Did you change your map sensor? Mine kept the stock one and stops reading at 118kpa. Think it converts to 2-3 psi. Just flat lines tell the boost comes down. I will probably just keep what I have tell I get my heads and cam in. Did put a lengthy gap on a hemi single cab today so I will just have to live with my pie pan pulley tell them.

I just googled a chart and that converts to 17psi so somethings off. Maybe your sensor is bad but Im no tuner so... I just installed my kit as it came with no mods whatsoever until a 1yr+ got a tune. Thats what I liked about the kit over the Mag. More boost and hp out of the box and no mods just turn on the key and burnout lol.

I emailed whipple and they said all the 5.3 gen 3 blowers come with 4.5 and the older gen 2 came with 4.375. Feb 2018 is when they changed to the gen 3. I also googled the 118 and it said 17 but that’s absolute pressure and barometric pressure is around 14.8 so only reading 2-3 psi positive. I will get a 3 bar map sensor when I have it off for the heads. I may get a boost gauge and a afr wideband also. Need to fix the traction issues before I can add more power anyways.

Well mine is 4.375 so...lol on them huh unless I'm gen 2 blower? Gen 5 engine but idk. As far as psi? Yep 17 I'm an idiot. Didn't even cross my mind what was I thinking? Traction issues, mine is my daily work truck and it's always loaded to 6k with me. It still will spin them 40 ft loaded in 2wd from idle but I don't drive it that way. If I want to go it's 4wd for sure.
