Stock air intake vs K&N CAI
#11
It seemed to work. The truck made a noticeable drop on the dyno beforehand. I tracked the truck after making the changes and it pulled hard to 5800 rpm anyway and ran half ways respectable times. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if I ever bought another one.

Did the change to Corvette cam timing tables (along with factory airbox mod) provide a noteworthy increase in rate of acceleration past 5k ?
For the most part I believe K&N low restriction replacement filters provide marginal but measureable gains but not so much a fan of aftermarket intake tubes that add low frequency drone. I can see the K&N filter and adding a snorkel to oem airbox in my future.

with mit airaid tube throttle response is a lot better , that without cutting anything to oem box .

The tube didn't do anything on it's own on my 2015. Once I cut the front fender and the box to match there was a noticeable gain... the box is the problem.. not so much the tube. Blackbears test shows it too.. the mit was basically the winner with the gmt900 air box on it... why? The whole side of the box was wide open and not half closed off.

There is really nothing that helps all that much that doesn’t involve electronic altering of the input vs output.
If the throttle repsonse is rated a 0 out of 100, the paint stick mod brings it up to 10, turning off traction control and grade braking brings it up to 12, bringing the adjustable pedals all the way out makes it a 15, an mit tube might make it a 17-18.

not agreeing/disagreeing with anyone, but in theory I can see how changing the airflow characteristics off idle can lean up the off idle tip in a little and make a truck feel a touch more responsive.
or it's all placebo and our brain wants to justify the money we just spent on an air tube
