Procharger installed

Put the Procharger on Sunday, kit was missing the tube that goes the the throttle body and has the bung for MAF so got that ordered Monday. Part came in yesterday and I took it to my tuner at lunch, anxiously awaiting a call saying it's ready!

Nice, is that a P1 or D1?

Jeremy? Super guy!

How easy was the install? Looks like with that IC setup you did not have to remove the bumper or lights. I helped a buddy of mine with his for a bit and we had to remove the headlights. His was a FMIC not a bottom mount though.

FELONIOUS1 04-15-2017 08:20 PM

Install wasn't super difficult but wasn't a cakewalk either. There were several steps not described in the instructions, like having to remove the water pump (which means you have to remove the alt, a/c comp and their common bracket). There were also some frame braces that had to be removed and other brackets cut/modified for the intercooler pipe routing. Did not have to remove the grill or headlights but now wishing I had the front mount intercooler as I think it would function better. Will likely be looking into an air to water intercooler soon.

Looks good, I am still waiting on my head unit and I need to get a scoop or go the Procharger route and hang a rubber deflector to funnel more air through my IC, but at this point I will be in for about $2500 total on my setup.

Let me know what kind of boost you are making with what size pulley, I have 4 different sizes to mess with and am trying to make a graph of what the D1's do with our trucks.

FELONIOUS1 04-21-2017 08:17 PM

Damn man that's super cheap, how'd you manage that? I stole my setup brand new for $3500 with a pair of pacesetter ceramic coated long tubes so I'm really not in it for much more. I'm really not happy with the functionality of my IC either, just gonna go meth injection tho.

I did everything custom, except for the bracket, with junk sitting around from previous builds, luckily having an '05 GTO and '08 Corvette has left me with some nice parts that I never installed including a CCW head unit, lol! Meth is in my future too, though I have a BTR cam en route and will probably throw some LT4 HPFP and Injectors in to see if I can get some more fuel out of the injection window.

I think I will end up running a scoop on the IC along with some fans to pull some air. I will be following your setup closely.

I am very curious in the pulley size vs boost subject as well. I am currently running the stock 8psi pulley that came in the kit. I have posted in several places and emailed procharger about it with no answer. I am wanting to order smaller pulley and meth kit but my performance progress is currently halted due to the driveshaft situation. I have to order a new driveshaft but don't want to do that yet bc I'm going to drop it and definitely need to do that before I get a custom driveshaft built.

What size is the 8psi pulley?

and definitely drop it first, I had to get a custom drive shaft because of that exact reason, and I'll use any excuse to buy upgraded parts.

It's pretty massive, about 3 1/2" I think.

You mind letting me know what size belt that is? I want to pick some up before my head unit arrives Thursday, would be helpful to know what the 6PK number is, I am guessing it is around a 6PK2400.

FELONIOUS1 04-25-2017 07:27 PM

6pk2455

Belt fit perfectly, making 9 psi on a 3.4" pulley with a P-1SC-1, putting down around 575rwhp/530rwtq but having a serious issues with IAT as I am not getting good airflow through my IC right now, guess I am leaving around 50hp on the table.

Basically maxed out on the stock fuel system right now. Safely.

Picked up an L86 6.2 shortblock today to liven this beast up a bit

Do you have this all working? How hard is it to find a 6.2 shortblock for a good deal?

Not quite sure what you mean but I've been daily driving it with the procharger for months. The 6.2 build is a work in progress. I picked up the shortblock a few weeks ago as a rebuildable core for $900. Everything looks to be good on it but I'm going to go ahead and go through it and upgrade to forged pistons, rods and possibly crank too. Picked up some LT1 heads for $400 and sending them to Frankenstein next week for some CNC port work.

Truck looks nice. Did you change the spark plugs? If so what did you go with?
