Nitto 420v vs Toyo Proxes ST3
Needing to get a new set of tires for my 17 6.2L to replace the tires that came in the truck when I bought it new in 17. I’m torn between the 420v and Proxes ST3. Wanting to get some opinions on both tires if possible. Truck has longtubes intake exhaust and e85 tuned so I’m wanting something with decent traction. I’m wanting to go with a 285/50r20.

I have 420V’s and like them so far.

EDIT: I have the Proxes ST not the ST 2's |
I had Proxies 2 and they were very hard compared to my Nittos, traction with them sucked. The Nittos are much better, but I am sure they will wear faster. I just wanted something soft and was limited due to size. Being AWD I need the same size front and rear. 295/45/20

I mean technically yes, it all depends what you need more. Traction or lightness.
|
My 2 cents, you won't notice an extra 18lbs of weight as much as you would the lack of traction.

I’ve also heard that the 420v is a pretty loud tire and somewhat rough riding as well
|
If the 420v is heavier, harsher riding, and louder, sounds like the decision is fairly easy then.
