new truck 6.2 8 spd with 3.23 rear ???
Anybody got the 6.2 in a 4x4 crew cab with just 3.23 how is it for driveability ??
I'm coming out of a 2010 LTZ crew Cab with 5 .3 6 spd and 4.11 with 33 " tires and its perfect for my needs daily driver and tow vehicle I tow at 2200-2500 in 5th
Want the Midnite Edition LTZ with 6.2 , you cant get the max tow option with 3.73s in a LTZ !!!! ....so only the 3.23 rear if I want LTZ with Midnite package ?? How lazy will it be or will the 8 spd
make up for it ??

I have the max tow 2016 3.42.Not a huge differents .42 vs .23
I always buy the biggest engine option and lowest gear and pick a good resale color,I always do good with resale. The NHT 3.42s are good, not thrilled with giant mirrors,1/2 way use to them. The midnight trucks looks so friggn nice, rather than a gear change,$ if you need more,go long tubes,Kooks ARH Stainless Thorley OBX as you already know,Charlie wheatly got my tune only 016 mileage up by 2.went whipple mileage not so critical

HP Tuners has support for the 2017's engine and transmission. Costs $400 in credits and you have to send in your TCM for programming.
Of course it voids all powertrain warranty if you do any of this stuff.
I myself haven't tuned anything GEN 5 related but pretty much throw half of what you know about tuning a gen 3/4 out the window. The torque model tuning in the GEN 5's is not something to take lightly, very easy to makes things worse if you don't know how any of it works.

I'll be the devil, the 8-speed sucks.
The hunting and pecking for gears, clanking etc.. is gone with a tune. Still too many gears it's never in the sweet spot for any type of driving.
I drive in the city in 5th and 7th hwy, which is the same as having 4.10's if in 6th and 8th.

I just picked up a used 2015 Z71 LTZ Crew with the same combo (6.2 w/8-speed with 3:23) I still can't get used to it. It's weird coming from a 2011 5.3 w/6-speen and 3:42) Sometimes it feels sluggish and like previously said seems like it's always looking for a gear. Maybe I just need to get used to it.
