Need help dead in the parking lot P0106 code
The truck stumbled pulling into the parking lot. then I barely got the truck to back into a parking spot. It was sputtering and shaking like it was about to cut off. It sounded like old steam engine tractor. No codes at this point so I cut it off the tried to cut it right back on and got a check engine light. I read it and it was P0106 manifold absolute pressure.
So I went to auto zone and bought a new Map sensor and nothing changed. Still no start
Now the thing is the new sensor was shaped alittle different then the one I pulled out of the truck.
And the main thing I noticed is the new sensor wasn’t even close to being tight when I pushed it down in the hole. The old one was hard to pull out.
im lost

So I went back and picked up the Map sensor that came out of the truck. And sure enough it was different then the one I put in. Below is the one that was original in the truck. After googling it looks like this is the map sensor for a LT4 engine.
im I wrong in thinking that to run that map sensor the tune would need to be scaled for a LT4 map sensor.
So if yes, wouldn’t the odds be that somebody supercharged this engine before.

Hard to say but you could try starting and running it with the MAP unplugged. I haven't tried it on a k2 truck yet but I have tried it on many vehicles before during testing etc and they will usually run.
Point here is, no signal is better than a bad signal. The PCM can figure out how to make it run with no signal but it's hard for it to figure out what to do with a bad signal since it assumes it's correct... and or tries to figure out how to make it run with the signal it gets and if it's far enough out of whack it wont be able to get it right.

Thanks
Autozone has the 12644228 listed as a supercharged Map sensor. Apparently it's ran on the LT4 too. But I'm not positive about that. My father in-law is a part manager so I have the correct MAP sensor in hand for 35.00 so I'll try it this time after work.
I'll post a video of a video my wife just sent me I didn't know she took. It sounds like I'm missing a spark plug LOL.

Here it is after I put the first map sensor. It changed nothing.
