MPG change after deactivating DOD (4 cyl)
What have you guys seen in your mpg after turning off the DOD. Did you do anything besides deactivate it? Tune?
Trying to figure out if it's really worth turning it off or if everyone is just paranoid and turning it off. I'm not as worried about having to pop the heads off as most, I'm a tech with tools and a shop readily available, and LS and LT motors are really easy to pull heads on so not that big of a deal to me.
I will say, so far i'm not a fan of how it feels in 4 cyl mode, I've only had the truck 3 weeks and still adjusting to it but now that I can actually feel it switch over and back from 4 cyl it kinda sucks. I didn't notice it the first couple weeks.

with afm I would fluctuate between 25-30mpg on the freeway. With it off I hold a steady 25-26. Afm is a joke. The truck feels better with it off. And between fillups it's hardly a noticeble difference
I do have a 16 regular cab 5.3

I hope to find a 6.2 someday that I can afford and slap in it in this truck.
Appreciate the info, congrats on the 6.2 truck.

My daily routine maybe sees a 1-2mpg drop. I average 16-17 and used to get about 18 average. Highway trips I lost maybe 3mpg, going from like 24 to about 21.
I didn't buy a full size v8 truck for the economy.
