I'm running an aftermarket intake that just has a hose that slips over so I should be fine. If not that's an easily attainable part.

He probably means the one from the valley cover to the intake.

I think I'll do the L86 intake soon and port it. I'll make my own new PCV hose/valley to intake hose by cutting the existing one in half and putting a piece of 3/8 hose between the two ends and making a new hose that way.

Ah. I'll just make my own as well.

I'm going to spend a little time with a Dremel and clean up some flashing but that's about it. I'm definitely going to be cutting the big tube that runs directly behind the throttle body out.

That's what I was wanting to do after reading that article. I went home and showed my wife the throttle body I ported on friday and told her about this post and porting the l86 intake. Then I told her how much it cost for it all and all she said was "buy it now" lol

I talk to mine about it and she shrugs her shoulders and says whatever as long as you're happy and don't sell the truck. I tend to sell things I get bored with. Guess that's why she's always changing haha.

Lmao, that's funny.

The more I think about it I'm a little worried about losing a little low end and part throttle response. Are you gonna be doing the headers and intake soon?

Was going to do them both simultaneously but I'm going to try and do the manifold tomorrow before a road trip on Wednesday and Friday. Be interesting comparison. I get 19.5-20.5mpg on these two road trips so I'll see if there is anything different there. I'm not going to get custom tuning before I get the headers on. I may change the diablo to 93 octane but I've got a full tank of 87 now.

I just spent an hour with the Dremel knocking down casting flash and trimming the tube. I'll try and get some pics when I get back in a bit. There really isn't much to clean up and it takes so little effort.

I've popped two clips, cut two pieces of tape, and cut 4 zip ties and I still can't get the damn cover off. This is definitely not what I expected to be the hard part.
