Cams are cheaper than motors and fixing a problem is still cheaper than a new truck.

I'm just all like man so there's a common problem with these motors and if it happens it's likely to ruin the engine and I'll have to spend thousands on a new one. And if I take those faulty DOD lifters out I have to replace the cam when I switch to the standard lifters. So I HAVE to cam my truck, might as well do a performance one while i'm in there.

It's all true though actually lol.
