How cheap will the 2018's get?
I am fortunate enough to have a good relation with a local Chevy dealer. I'm getting a new truck and I'm not a fan of the 2019's. I'll build a truck and they will order it from GM at the last moment possible and sit on it until the rebates start kicking in to move out the 2018's and get the 2019's moving.
Any idea what kind of deals we might see? I think they have $11,000 - $11,500 off certain packages - right now.
I would normally go to Laura GMC, but I just cannot stand the grill (that plastic gap, dead center, at the top of the grill where the grill and hood meet). Drives me crazy. LOVE the rest of the truck.
So what do you guys think we'll see with discounts? Trying to get the best deal I can. Any sales guys out there?

Yeah, the deals all depend on the options package and what the initial mark up on the truck was in the first place. They won't be doing crazy numbers off trucks that don't bring them in a ton of money like the LT's or low optioned SLT's.
I was at the Twin Cities auto show here this past Monday and I talked with one of the dudes running their Chevrolet display. While I was asking him why they didn't have the new Pre-production 2019 on display at this big show, he was saying a main reason was that many of the local dealerships that sponsor the show were still try to get rid of some 2017 models still. That and there are only a few "show" ready 2019's out there for larger auto shows right now.
Make me wonder that if they still can't get rid of some 2017's what is that going to be like when the 2018's stop production in 3-4 months.

Totally depends on your area and the trucks available. Locally we are nothing but trucks throughout the province so getting a good deal after the model year is over isn't hard. I got a discount of around $18000 from MSRP on my 2017 SLE 6 liter 2500HD and bought it when the 18's were out on lots. Will you get a good discount where you live? I can't tell you.

I'm not too worried about the "whats left over" since the dealer is going to order my truck and then keep it off their lot until the deals start to pick up.
Interesting about the $18k off the 2500. I wouldn't mind a 2500, don't need one that size for everyday use but I figured that all the discounts went towards the 1500's.
