fuel mileage just keeps getting better...

Hello everyone,

I just passed 10k miles on my truck and the last tank of gas went 500.2 miles/20.2 MPG (still had about 18 to go according to the math) and the current tank is averaging 23.4 so far 115 miles in to the tank... it seems like it just keeps getting better. VidMate

you other guys having this kind of luck? Mobdro

I had a ccsb loaner a few weeks ago for 4 days and it got 18ish... hell if I'd known that I would have got a crew! my nnbs crew was 14.5ish average

I rarely have to drive far for anything but when I do, like going to our families property which is 90-100 miles away, I have no issues getting between 21-24mpg. So going 450-500 miles on a tank isn't a problem at all.

Mine is a crew cab short bed with 98,000 miles.

My city mpg for a massive 7-8 miles round trip commute for work is about 8-10 mpg in the winter and probably 13-16 in the summer.

mine goes up & down depending on the mods...

swapping from 4.3 to 5.3 took me from 14 avg for town/hwy to about 16
headers bumped me to 17 avg
33s dropped me back to 16
3.73 to 4.30 gear swap bumped my town mileage but dropped my hwy, so avg stayed about the same
cam dropped me back to about 15

i've almost considered a turbo sized for about 2000-2500rpm sweet spot just for the mileage gain on top of funsies, but overall not bad for a 20yr old truck with 245k miles

The best I ever got was 31 mpg over a 13 mile stretch. But i'm constantly in stop and go and I'm not nice to the gas pedal so mine doesn't average so well. I have seen as high as 19 over a near 100 mile drive with some stop and go in there, so I could see it getting a few more MPG if I was steady driving on the highway, it got that 19 on country back roads with some stop signs and red lights. These trucks do very well in the MPG department.

One thing I love is my 04 truck got 12 mpg on 93 octane on average with my driving and the 93 tune gave it an additional 2 mpg. That was my daily driving to work with lots of stop and go.

I now average 12 mpg on e85 with the same driving habits and same route. That makes me really happy since it's $1 cheaper a gallon.
