Dropped a lifter @ 21,080 miles and now 22,000 miles

Just picked up used 2015 GMC sierra with 5.3 . I guess the lifters were replaced right before I got it. Not even 1k miles and I had one fail on me yesterday morning. I thought these gen V motors were good to go ?
How many other guys out there having the same issue ?

Should still be under the 100k mile warranty

I work at a GM dealer and haven't heard of a lot of this. Lifters are an item that will fail but I would never say it's a problem at least in my area in Texas

Do you know if ALL the lifters were replaced or just the bad one?

Is this a dod/afm truck?

There's a reason most fellas just do the dod delete.

I didnt think it was common on gen V motors. Googled it and seen alot of guys with the issue. Guy here at my job has a 2015 silverado with L83 and said it happen to him twice already..

well in a total within 3k miles it has happen 3 times. Gm doesn't feel the need to replace motor yet. Last time they replaced the lifter they also replaced a oil manifold piece. They feel confident in the repair now. Ive only own the truck a month, tried to get them to buy it back and they wont give me what i paid for it .. What a garbage situation ... Yes ive been in contact with GMC customer care and the rep is said they dont feel engine should be replaced yet.

See if they'll warranty a DOD delete if that's something you'd want and place the former lifters in there. However, they might not want to set that precedent where they would basically be admitting that a key feature is faulty.

I'd be talking to an attorney and lemon law'ing it. That shits for the birds. If GM can't explain it, or won't explain it then they are not doing their due diligence on the matter.
