That drive shaft is my first full pass. I was just over the 1/8 mile when it went “BOOM”
I will attach pictures of the tail area of my 8l90 transmission.

YES!
I replaced it with a 2 piece driveshaft. Worth every penny I spent on it. It would of been way cheaper to spend $800 on a 2 piece driveshaft and not $3500 on fixing/upgrading my transmission

yup, all OEM driveshafts typically have cardboard inside, as it dampens high-frequency driveline vibration/noise.
that's also because manufacturers make the driveshafts so thin

Not fast enough to destroy a driveshaft. I am not sure what was wrong with the driveshaft before that run? But it only takes one time. It is way cheaper to go 2 piece. That was a custom built one piece for a 2 wheel drive crew cab. Way too long for a 1 piece aluminum.

So who does everyone like for a replacement? I was going to wait for further mods on the Callaway to do a driveshaft, but now I'm second guessing it.

I use the Driveshaft shop, they have a good reputation and handle Nascar as well: https://www.driveshaftshop.com/
