Yup.. after a little digging it’s what’s i found. Speed Engineering supplied one for the exhaust, but I want to upgrade. Summit makes a lap clamp at $9.99 that looks pretty solid. But honestly after I reinstalled my old Speed Engineering exhaust after a stall upgrade, we repositioned the clamps a little different and hit them with a impact.. It quit leaking all around. So I might give these stock clamps another shot then upgrade later if need be.

I gotta say, for $400 headers these speed engineering headers fit real nicely. All I've got left to do now is the y-pipe back exhaust but that'll have to wait until Saturday so hopefully by then I'll have sound clips of it.

Going to go ahead and start installing my speed engineering headers in morning. what route did you use to remove the factory exhaust and remove from truck? cut it in half? I don’t have a lift so that’ll be my issue. I thought about cutting the exhaust after the third cat and removing everything behind it. then work on y pipe after. any special header bolt sequence i need to follow when tightening? any tips appreciated!

I don't have a lift either. I put a trans jack under the transmission pan and then dropped the cross member. Be sure to leave the cross member out until the headers and y-pipe are installed. For tigthenting I started at the center and just alternated as I tightened. It doesn't take much. I think torque spec is like 20ftlbs. The manifold to y-pipe bolts were the hardest but after some wd-40 they came out. They really are pretty simple to install.

perfect. I don’t have a trans jack but i can use a regular jack and a 2x4 or something in between the pan and jack. Ill probably rent a exhaust wheel cutter just to avoid having to bust out the saw. i’m by myself on the install but i think i’m good for most part

Did you have to drop the trans cross member to get the stock Y-pipe out??

On my old 08 6.2 i just cut up the stock Y-pipe to get it out. On my new truck I'm hoping to do it a-little less destructive, or at-least until something pisses me off.

Yes you will have to drop the cross member. Crossover wont fit into the driver side header unless you do so. Had that issue on my 06 but it takes 2 mins to drop the crossmember once you support the trans

I've done the whole project by myself. Haven't needed a saw once. I used a jack stand under the collector to hold the header up while I was putting the bolts back in. Beats the hell out of trying to hold the header with one hand and thread a bolt with the other.

agreed.. I will be using that method. I'm ready! Hoping to get to work at a pretty decent time. I just read AEM's long tube install page and it was fairly short
