Boosted exhaust options?
 

What exhaust are you guys running cat (or no cats) back? I really like the speed engineering stainless true duals setup I saw on here but they only mak it for 99-06 and 07-13. Anyone else that makes a stainless setup like that for the 14 up that's priced around the same $600ish? Looking for something with a good throaty idle (I'll be running D1SC with long tubes and no cats) but no drone and won't sound like a promod when I open it up.

I run ARH's but out of your budget so run big primaries 1 7/8" non catted, your gonna get resonance in the cab and it will sound like a pro mod!

I already have a set of pace setter ceramic coated 1 7/8" long tubes, looking for options for the rest of the exhaust.

Im going back to stock.... My shit is too loud! How's that... Seriously try the stock exhaust first and if you want loud then go for a kit.

A lot of people like a big magnaflow muffler, if that is too loud they add in a small resonator

What are you running after the headers?

Wretched- Yeah I've heard good things about the magnafkow but haven't found a true dual kit... was trying to avoid having to have it done custom at a muffler shop.

I'm running two mufflers 28" and a 14" magnaflow and it's LAF!! Trust me! Stay with stock!

How is it for idle and normal driving?

Idle is fine, part throttle it starts to get irritating, WOT is stupid as F-ck!

yes. If you wanna go loud I will have this off in a month and it will be for sale but that's totally up to you.

My Magnaflow exhaust 28" muffler and resonator isn't very loud

I run a magnaflow 3.5"/4" out. The muffler is about 24" long and then it goes into a decent size resonator. I like it and its 10x better sounding than my corsa sport catback I had when I added headers.

Cats will take alot of Bark out of it.

The off road y I have doesn't make much of a difference. I've been playing with the exhaust on this truck for quite some time trying to get a sound I like, still not there. Will be selling the Magnaflow kit after a trip next week.

What are you going to?

Not really sure yet, looking at a Borla multi-core muffler but its costly. Not sure want to "try" with the cost it has.

I wish I woulda stayed stock muffler and tail pipe. I have a huge magnaflow muffler and viberant resonator and it's louder than I want for cruising. I have a 3 inch cutout also.

Next time I'll stick w quiet stock exhaust for daily and a cutout for power.

Yes I like the quietness of the stock exhaust, but it also changes the boost about 2-2.5 PSI due to lack of flow, I'm looking at cutouts now.

Although I'm about ready to scrap this whole truck deal, my situation has changed from a year ago when got the truck.

a friend had wanted a bigger muffler but not loud as hell or completely messing his flow with a Maggie - so he went 02 Duramax stock muffler- with ORY - in my opinion it's not to loud driving

he uses his cutout if he is wanting to be really heard

So for the guys saying they would've stayed stock are y'all saying long tubes and stock exhaust or no long tubes at all?

^^^ This... We did this on my buddy's turbo truck and it sounded great! He thought it was being restrictive so one day he cut if off and put a strait pipe in place of the muffler. All it did was made it loud as F***, lol. Didn't help the power any.

I've got a dmax muffler I think I'm gonna put on my turbo truck and I've got one of those 3" boost actuated cutouts from ebay I'll just put pre-muffler and then route it around the muffler, back it the tail pipe so it's not dumping under the truck. They don't start to open till about 6 PSI so should work well and keep things quiet while reducing back pressure.

im currently thinking the same way he did- I have a hooker aerochamber dumped over axle. It sounds good but it's getting annoying on highway

I run gutted cats, and corsa touring with a magnaflow resonator. Not to loud at all, stock ypipe makes the pulse sound slightly odd but working on that.

if i had my choice test pipes or intermediate pipes from manifolds with high flow cats, twin vibrant mufflers and twin long bottle resonators, 2.5 each dual all the way front to back and over rear axle, twin cutouts before cats.

That would be plenty of breathing room for 2300 maggie, currently only running 1900 (for sale btw)

Are you running stock manifolds or shorty headers with stock y? I assume this is on a 14 up 5.3 truck?
