Ball joints or replace a-arm?
Got some popping starting when turning the wheel and I’ve narrowed it down to the ball joints. They’ve got a 160k miles so not surprised. Is it easier to just swap the whole arm or just get ball joints? I haven’t had much time to search to be honest.

Upper A arm is usually cheap enough to just replace the whole thing

Easy enough. What about the lower?

What vehicle are we talking about? I am all for replacing the entire upper arm when available . For the lowers, I have usually just replaced the ball joint but depends on the condition of the a arm bushings.

My 14 Silverado.

I would definitely replace the arms. Depending on what you have planned for the truck there are quite a few companies making really good stuff out there.
I absolute LOVE my Mazzulla arms. Machined billet, 1.25 uniballs, heims instead of bushings, more adjustments for a better alignment with a lift. They are definitely on the high end of the price range for arms, but they are great. Dirt King offers two styles, tubular without a uniball, or boxed with a uniball. |
I plan on it driving my kids to school and back and hauling mulch and my blazer. Don’t think I need uniball’s and fancy billet haha.

If they are still riveted like the gen3's, replace the arms. You don't want to fight with those rivets.

Fuck rivets. Chiseled enough of those out on my blazer.
