Alright guys quick question for the 2018+ sierra/silverado owners

Alright so the time has come... gonna be letting go of my 5th gen camaro and my 05 silverado.. and i plan on purchasing a new truck... either a sierra/silverado.. maybe even a 2500hd diesel... give me some pros and cons? Of what yall like! Should i stay away from diesel? Lookin into a quad can 4x4
. Any regrets etc!

If I could have swung it I'd be in a diesel. Just wasn't in the cards this time. Half tons have limits. HD's don't for just about any occassion. I hate limits.

What are you going to tow. 6.2 with a max towing package has a really high tow rating.

I had a duramax built Trans and full bolt ons, down pipes Ats co- pilot. Basically every but turbo and injectors. They are cool but a bigger money pit that building a race car.

My old 2008 6.2 Denali with header and a tune. Would hang right with not beat but hang. With my duramax that had let say close to 6,000 dollars worth mods.

I went from a 04 Avalanche with the 5.3 to a 2018 Silverado LTZ CC 4x4 with the 6.2 and grin from ear to ear every time I fire her up! The ride is night and day of each other and the gas mileage is better then my old baby. So regret’s? No I don’t have any!

I love my 2018 Sierra with the 6.2
With the SW headers, exhaust, intake and tune the power is awesome (about 410 RWHP). In my experience, didn't really affect the MPG.

If you don't need to pull a ton of weight I'd get the 6.2 gas truck. They haul ass.

I picked up considerable mpg with my mods.

Maybe just a trans am.. and a boat ..

The 6.2 gas truck will do that, not as easy as a diesel but it will.

My last truck was a 2004 extended cab 1/2 ton with a 5.3 and a 4l60 trans. I pulled a trans am on a rollback trailer and it did it, but it sucked. I pulled it a good hour each direction a few times. I also pulled my current boat with that truck.

Pulling the boat with my current truck (2014 5.3 6L80 trans) is night and day. My boat and trailer only weigh about 3300 or so but you could feel it with the last truck. With this truck it's like it isn't barely there. And the brakes on these new trucks are phenomenal compared to the previous trucks. I would say if you're leaning toward the gas truck and aren't pulling long distances then you'll be happy. I'm really happy and I'm pulling with a 5.3

My old 2017 with the 5.3 pulled this enclosed and old Ford pretty darn well. Only had a cat back exhaust.

The 2018 with 6.2 pulled the 35' trailer and same truck and I barely noticed it back there. Just 500 miles on the truck and only a cat back also.
