Gears it is. Going to be ordering from Ron’s Machining as they’ve got the best prices I’ve seen for front and rear with install kits and timken bearings. Now the question is which gear? Elite, AAM, or Yukon.

If your not going to do the gears your self. It’s more than double the cost to do gears over headers. I vote header because of the cost to install

With headers you gain power and fuel mileage, with gears you go faster but usually at the expense of some gas mileage if you're on the highway a lot.
I did headers on mine over the weekend.
One really good thing to do on these trucks is cut out the front muffler near the flapper valve and the flapper valve. It opens up some considerable power and I gained a couple of MPG too.
Tune it if it isn't tuned already, that'll open up a little bit of pep and give you a little increase in MPG if they turn the timing up a little.

Does the borla cat back have a flapper?
btw I would get the flap cut out if it does have one. On the OEM one, even wedged open it takes up a considerable amount of room in the pipe and the borla could be the same way if it has a flap. I could tell a difference having mine wedged open vs having it taken out and the muffler next to it swapped for a straight through magnaflow.
