My understanding is only the 8spd needs unlocked. Not the 6spd.

I have 5.3 and 6.2. 6.2 isn't much better then the 5.3 in my opinion. But for me it's ease. Slap a whipple on. Tune it, done

Another option, I might just buy another car or truck to play with and leave my daily alone

Throw a Maggie on it and roll with the stock tune for a bit...

I got the maggie the same day as my new 2014 5.3 sierra, no need for headers and what not if stock
boost. Just install and go, now that they have the 2300 out go with that one instead of the 1900 like I have so you have room to grow.
Had the truck for a few years now, and currently has 80k miles, and 32.5” nitto terra grapplers, runs s85 or 93 (usually do a 50/50 with the E) and runs faster than a 6.2 and all of the bolt-on diesels round here, havent had a single issue.
One thing I will be getting is the hx tank for spare battery tray and meth, mainly to help with houston summer heat when Im towing or 4 deep on a road trip; and traction bars/shock relocate.
The whipple is about the same as far as the outcome but will not quite have the midrange punch like the maggie does. You cant go wrong with either one. The procharer is proving to be a stout setup but that would be a more max power type build imo, not a wife DD family hauler/tow rig.
Also the maggie warranty should still be honored as long as you have it tuned/installed by auth dealer i believe.

How much power did you make on the 1900?

For reference, here is what a boosted 014 DI 6.2 vs 014 DI 6.2 looks like, white truck maggy and maggy tune.otherwise stock. My truck had a catback and a mail order tune.To me it shows the maggys kind of a waste without a custom tune.He would have killed me had it been tuned.

The question of a tune is no question.

I'm hoping to buy a procharger with no piping, no intercooler, no software. I'll be doing my own awic setup with a waterbox.

Same for the Magnusson, I wouldn't need the pump and reservoir.

But really I'm really starting to lean toward a second truck for a toy.
